Detail
The Shimano-Dura-Ace CS-R9100 Eleven-Speed Cassette starts with the famously fast and easy ramps and cutouts that help keep Shimano shifting humming smoothly. Then, they developed a new tooth profile system for even faster and smoother shifting. Then they upgraded the rest for an impressive package that is super-light, performs great, and looks good. First, they lightened the set. That’s thanks to the five tallest cogs getting installed on two multi-material carriers. They combine aluminum with carbon-fiber. Those cogs, the two tallest and then the next three, are constructed out of titanium for light weight. The next six are loose and made of steel for durability. They’ve also developed some new gear combinations. Two of them, start with a twelve-tooth cog. There’s both a 12-25 and 12-28 in the 9100 family. Plenty of people don’t need that 11-tooth because they’re neither sprinting in the WorldTour, nor trying to reach maximum velocity heading down mountains. A third is the widest Dura-Ace offering yet. That’s the 11-30 ratio. (and , the new 9100 rear derailleur accommodates the 30.) Those are in addition to the standard 11-25 and 11-28 offerings. Weights are 175g for 11-25, 193g for 11-28, 211g for 11-30, 189g for 12-25, and 205g 12-28. For all the awesomeness you have here, you can use Shimano’s CN-HG901-11 chain for system integration. However, any eleven-speed chain will do the job. Likewise, they designed the CS-9100 to work with the RD-R9100 rear derailleur, though any eleven-speed rear derailleur will do. The Shimano Dura-Ace CS-R9100 Cassette shows how light, wide, and fast shifting can be.
